Delivering Our Mission in Practice
The Gateway Project is a membership-led initiative, built to accelerate social mobility at scale.
Collectively, we deliver that mission through a number of carefully designed initiatives that your consultancy can choose to take part in, each addressing a different barrier to access.
Our Initiatives
Social mobility isn’t held back by a single challenge, so why rely on a single solution?
Gateway membership includes access to all three initiatives.
Your consultancy can choose to run one, two, or all three, depending on your priorities and capacity, while remaining part of the same collective effort to improve social mobility.
-
A five-day immersive work experience programme that gives young people real exposure to professional services and opens the door to a career they never thought was possible.
-
A series of short, structured mentoring sessions that help students explore options, ask questions, and make more informed choices at key decision points.
-
A quiet, supportive environment within your firm where students can revise for exams, focus, and build confidence during a critical period.
Gateway Week
As part of the membership, your Professional Services firm can deliver Gateway Week, a five-day programme that gives disadvantaged young people structured exposure to professional working life.
A week that can change how a young person sees their future
The experience has the power to reshape their perspectives, uncover new possibilities, and alter the trajectory of their lives. Your consultancy becomes a catalyst for change, potentially impacting not only individual futures but also the lives of generations to come.
As part of Gateway Week, we provide:
A partnership with a local school and a small group of high-potential students
A ready-to-run curriculum, session guides, and templates
Clear structure and support to make delivery straightforward
Ongoing coordination to ensure the week runs smoothly and successfully
“I really do encourage you to take part and join as a member; The Gateway Project team make it super simple for you.”
CEO and Co-Founder, Lancia Consult
Career Conversations
Career Conversations are a series of online sessions that connect young people with consultants from your firm at a crucial moment in their decision-making.
Held in the spring, when students are making important choices about GCSEs, college, and next steps, these conversations give them space to ask questions and hear honest insights about working life.
For many students, it’s the first time they’ve been able to talk openly with someone who understands professional pathways, helping them build confidence and make more informed decisions about their future.
Exam Study Safe Space
Exam Study Safe Space offers students a calm, safe place in one of your meeting rooms, so that they can revise during the run-up to key exams.
For young people who don’t have a quiet or suitable environment at home, this simple intervention can make a real difference. By providing a safe space away from distractions, firms help reduce stress, support wellbeing, and give students the chance to focus fully at a critical point in their education.
You don’t need huge resources to have real impact. With light-touch delivery, your firm can play a meaningful role in helping young people believe in what they can achieve.
