The team behind the Gateway Project

  • Jeff Cronkshaw

Jeff had a nomadic school life, attending five UK state schools before heading to University early at 17 years old, swapping the ends of the country from Aberdeen to Brighton drawn by the University’s passion for mandatory placement year based degrees.

The placement year experience was transformative, he landed a role with a major US Pharmaceutical, who later offered him a graduate job before he even started his Final Year taking him across Europe and the USA.

However, the draw for consulting was always there and a chance moment led to an interview with Accenture a few years after graduating, leading to ten years in Europe and Asia with them before founding LanciaConsult in Singapore in 2012 with his wife.

Nick and Jeff came together in 2023 to launch The Gateway Project with a shared passion for using the Consulting sector to create similar transformative experiences for disadvantaged children.

  • Nick Synnott

Nick's adventure started in a small Midlands town, attending local state schools with no clue about consulting careers. University, suggested by his parents, was a bit of a blur until a chance coffee chat with a friend who'd done an internship caught his attention. This led him to London, where he landed a consulting job through newfound connections.

Determined to break down class-related barriers in consulting, Nick launched The Gateway Project with Jeff and Nicola. Creating the opportunity for those without to gin a window into a world that could change their futures forever.

  • Simon Clark

Simon has spent his career building and advising consultancy businesses. He founded and grew a management consultancy which was sold in 2010, before creating Metis, a business management platform for consultancies, acquired in 2017.

Since then, Simon has worked as a Chair, non-executive director and advisor to consultancies and agencies.

Today, he focuses his time on mentoring individuals, charities, and smaller businesses. He is particularly passionate about widening access to meaningful careers for young people, and using his experience to support organisations with a social purpose.
